Our Mission

The Good Recycling Company exists to make responsible recycling simple, trustworthy, and cost-effective — while using business as a force to create opportunity, strengthen communities, and empower women.

We believe recycling can do more than divert waste. It can create jobs, open doors, support families, and help build a better future for the next generation. Our mission is rooted in ethical recycling, measurable impact, and a commitment to using this company to do real good in the world.

Real people doing real recycling — and using business to create real opportunity.
Sheramae Mitchell

Sheramae Mitchell

Founder, operator, mother, and mission-driven business leader committed to building companies that create opportunity for others.

Sheramae’s personal mission includes empowering women, setting a strong example for her three daughters, and showing that business success can be used to lift others up — not just financially, but through dignity, mentorship, and hope.

More Than a Recycling Company

At The Good Recycling Company, our mission goes far beyond hauling, sorting, and reporting. We are building a company that reflects our values: integrity, accountability, environmental stewardship, and service to others.

We work with vetted, licensed, and proven partners and maintain oversight from pickup to final reuse or compliant disposal. Our clients gain confidence that their materials are handled responsibly — but our larger purpose is to prove that doing business the right way can also transform lives.

Sheramae’s vision is deeply personal. As a mother of three daughters, she is committed to setting an example of leadership, compassion, and strength. She wants her daughters to see that success is not only measured by growth or revenue, but by the number of lives we help change along the way.

Empowering Women Through Opportunity

A core part of our mission is to create and support opportunities that empower women — especially women working to overcome financial hardship, limited access to opportunity, and systemic barriers.

We believe that through the power of this company, our network, and our community, we can help bring women and families out of poverty and create pathways to more stable, hopeful futures.

We are proud to prioritize partnerships with vendors whose missions align with ours, especially minority-owned, women-owned, and community-centered enterprises. We believe where we spend our money matters, and that strong business relationships can also be part of building a more equitable economy.

  • Empowering women: creating opportunity, visibility, and support through business relationships and community action.
  • Leading by example: showing the world what purpose-driven leadership and compassion look like in real life.
  • Partnering with aligned businesses: prioritizing vendors whose values support minority-owned and women-controlled enterprises.
  • Creating lasting impact: building a company that changes lives, not just balance sheets.

Community Impact

We are proud of the lives we have already helped change — and even more proud of the lives we will continue to impact in the years ahead.

Last year, through donations of food and gifts, we were proud to support approximately 300 children and more than 50 families in celebrating Christmas. For us, those moments matter. They reflect the kind of company we want to build: one that serves beyond itself.

We believe meaningful business should create meaningful outcomes — not only for customers, but for communities, families, and people who need to know they have not been forgotten.

Responsible. Ethical. Accountable.

Recycling should not be complicated, risky, or fragmented. Our mission is to bring clarity, accountability, and measurable impact to every material stream we manage. From food waste and municipal solid waste to construction debris, manufacturing overruns, packaging, and precious metals, we help clients track materials from project to repurpose with confidence.

With decades of combined experience in recycling operations, logistics, compliance, and sustainability strategy, our team understands the unique challenges faced by modern industry. We simplify the complex, reduce internal administrative burden, and provide transparent reporting aligned with environmental and sustainability goals.

When you partner with The Good Recycling Company, you are not just outsourcing waste and recycling services — you are aligning with a team committed to doing good work, the right way, for the right reasons.
